Turazedek Malchior,

Master of Laws

Warden of the Sun-Bleached Pits • Overseer of the Scale-Bearers • Lord of Aurion's Righteousness

Overview

Turazedek Malchior serves as Master of Laws, the Empire’s supreme authority on justice, legal structure, and enforcement.

A man shaped not by war, but by doctrine, he rose through mastery of the Aurionic Legal Code and the decrees of the Old Lion, becoming indispensable to two rulers across two eras—first as a stabilizing force under King Tariq Hazzan, and later as the architect of legal unity under Emperor Jalil Hazzan.

He does not interpret the law.

He defines how it is applied.

To the court, he is discipline.

To the people, he is judgment.

To the Empire, he is the line that cannot be crossed.

Biography

Birth and Lineage

Born on Primus-Aura 8, 46 AH, in the Hazzan Kingdom, Turazedek Malchior stands as the unyielding embodiment of law within the Aurionic Empire. Bearing titles such as Master of Laws, Warden of the Sun-Bleached Pits, and Overseer of the Scale-Bearers, he governs not through force of arms or wealth—but through something far more absolute: order.

Where others inspire loyalty or fear,

Turazedek enforces inevitability.

Early Life

Turazedek was born into a world recovering from fracture.

His early years unfolded in the aftermath of the Great Rift, a period marked by instability, division, and the need for absolute control within the Hazzan Kingdom. While others pursued military distinction, Turazedek turned inward—toward structure, doctrine, and the principles that governed society itself.

He immersed himself in the Aurionic Legal Code, studying not only its rules, but its philosophy. To Turazedek, law was not a tool of governance—it was the foundation of existence.

From a young age, he believed a single truth:

Order is the only light that does not flicker.

Rise Under King Tariq

By the time King Tariq Hazzan ascended the throne in 60 AH, Turazedek had already established himself as a magistrate of rare efficiency and severity.

He did not seek popularity.

He sought compliance.

Tariq required someone who could maintain control without hesitation.

He chose Turazedek.

Appointed as Master of Laws during the mid-years of Tariq’s rule, Turazedek ensured that the kingdom did not fracture under the strain of war. His methods were uncompromising, his rulings absolute, and his presence enough to deter rebellion before it began.

The Architect of Imperial Law

When Jalil Hazzan took the throne in 79 AH, many expected the removal of the old guard.

Turazedek remained.

Recognizing the scale of Jalil’s ambition, he repositioned himself not as a relic of the past, but as a necessity for the future. He drafted the legal framework for Imperial Unification, creating a system that could bind multiple kingdoms, cultures, and traditions under a single authority.

In 80 AH, with the formation of the Aurionic Empire, Turazedek became Imperial Master of Laws.

His jurisdiction would expand from one kingdom to seven.

Where Jalil united lands,

Turazedek unified rules.

Master of Laws

As Master of Laws, Turazedek oversees the entire legal system of the Aurionic Empire.

His responsibilities include:

  • Advising the Emperor on all matters of law and justice

  • Drafting and enforcing imperial legal codes

  • Overseeing the administration of justice across all kingdoms

  • Ensuring that local customs and traditions ultimately submit to imperial authority

He operates from the principle that law must be consistent, even in a diverse empire. Whether resolving disputes of forged steel or ancient rites, all matters must align with the sovereignty of Aurion and the will of the Emperor.

To Turazedek, there are no exceptions.

Only outcomes.

The Scale-Bearers

Turazedek’s influence extends through the transformation of enforcement itself.

Under his authority, the Watch of the City of the Two Lights evolved into the Scale-Bearers—a force dedicated not merely to maintaining order, but to executing justice with precision and finality.

They do not patrol.

They enforce.

Through them, Turazedek’s law is not abstract—it is immediate, visible, and unavoidable.

The Sun-Bleached Pits

Among his most feared domains are the Sun-Bleached Pits, the Empire’s primary detention and interrogation complex.

Once known by another name, Turazedek redefined them as a symbol of his philosophy: that no darkness exists beyond the reach of the Emperor’s light.

Here, prisoners are not simply held.

They are broken, revealed, or judged.

Aurion's Righteousness

Turazedek also commands the Empire’s ultimate instrument of justice—the royal executioner, known as Aurion’s Righteousness.

To him, execution is not cruelty.

It is correction.

He refers to it as the Final Illumination—the removal of those who refuse alignment with the order of the Empire.

In his view, mercy is not found in sparing the guilty,

but in preserving the integrity of the whole.

Personality and Beliefs

Turazedek Malchior is cold, methodical, and unwavering.

He does not act from emotion, nor does he entertain moral ambiguity. To him, law is not subject to interpretation—it is a structure that must be upheld at all costs.

He values:

  • Order above all things

  • Consistency above compassion

  • Authority above sentiment

His devotion to Aurion is absolute, but expressed through structure rather than faith. Where others worship the light, Turazedek enforces it.

Legacy

Turazedek Malchior represents the uncompromising foundation upon which empires endure:

Law without weakness.

He is not loved.

He is not celebrated.

But he is necessary.

If Jalil Hazzan builds the Empire,

Ermias al-Karim governs it,

Beniman Qorash defends it,

and Obi Nwachim sustains it—

then Turazedek ensures that all of it remains under control.

For in the Aurionic Empire,

power may rise through ambition—

but it endures through law.
