House al-Ubari

The House of the Evolver

Origins of House al-Ubari

House al-Ubari was born from the fracture of House Hazzan during the Great Rift of 40 AH, when Idris al-Ubari departed the Hazzan heartlands to establish a new kingdom in the West. A brother to King Kadin, Idris carried with him both the blood of Malik Hazzan and the ambition to forge an independent legacy beyond the turmoil consuming the original kingdom. His founding of the Ubaris Kingdom marked not merely a political separation, but the beginning of a distinct cultural and ideological identity—one shaped by distance, adaptation, and a more fluid interpretation of authority compared to the rigid centralism of Hazzan rule.

Early Rule and Succession in Ubaris

Idris ruled Ubaris for twenty-four years, establishing its foundations before his death in 64 AH. His son Samir ascended the throne at the age of eighteen, inheriting a young but stable kingdom forged from frontier resilience. The line of succession continued with Haitham, who would rise to prominence after Samir’s death in 83 AH. Even before his coronation, Haitham strengthened the symbolic and spiritual authority of House al-Ubari through strategic marriages—first to Samira, who became the Aurion-Queen embodying the light of imperial faith, and later to Layla, the Vetr-Queen, whose origins in the desert reinforced themes of night, endurance, and divine balance within the kingdom’s identity.

Reunification and Vassalage to the Empire

The defining turning point for House al-Ubari came in 83 AH, when Jalil Hazzan moved to reunify the divided branches of the Hazzan lineage. With Haitham newly crowned as King of Ubaris, the long-standing separation between the houses was resolved through political alignment rather than conquest. Ubaris formally became a vassal kingdom to the Aurionic Empire, integrating its distinct traditions and rulership into a broader imperial framework. From that moment forward, House al-Ubari stood as both an extension of Hazzan bloodline authority and a vital western pillar of the empire, balancing autonomy with loyalty in a system defined by unity under the Two Lights.
